Having traversed the various realities of the Dark Multiverse, Duke Thomas returns to Earth to confront the cosmic destroyer Barbatos, now in his final dragon form, accompanied by his other Bat Dragons. With the help of a few allies, the Duke triumphs over Barbatos and his forces, but darkness continues to consume the universe. Despite this ultimate defeat, the Duke continues his mission. Creating a Batsuit from the skin of the vanquished dragon, the Duke takes up the powerful Parallel Axe and ventures alone into the Dark Multiverse to hunt down the remaining monsters!
