Karl Anthony Malone, born July 24, 1963 in Summerfield, Louisiana, is a professional basketball player considered one of the best power forwards in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Nicknamed "the Mailman" because he scored with the regularity of a postman delivering mail, he spent his first 18 seasons, from 1985 to 2003, with the Utah Jazz and formed a formidable duo with teammate John Stockton.
After retiring from the NBA, Malone joined the staff of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs basketball team in 2007 and was twice inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, in 2010 for his individual career, and in as a member of the United States Dream Team at the 1992 Olympic Games.
