Lord Voldemort, also known as " The Dark Lord ", " You-Know-Who ", " He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named ", or simply " Voldemort ", whose real name is Tom Elvis Jedusor ( Tom Marvolo Riddle in the original version), is a character in the Harry Potter saga written by JK Rowling. Voldemort is the main villain of the story: a wizard with considerable powers, he tries to take power in Great Britain to reshape the wizarding world according to his ideals.

JK Rowling first mentions him in the first chapter of the first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Voldemort appears in one form or another in six of the seven books, the exception being the third, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

In film, Lord Voldemort is played primarily by Ralph Fiennes.

The hero of the series, Harry Potter, learns on his eleventh birthday that his parents were murdered ten years earlier by a dark wizard whose name Wizards are extremely reluctant to pronounce, so great are his crimes: Lord Voldemort. He also learns that Voldemort then tried to kill Harry, but that his spell seems to have rebounded on the young boy, inflicting only a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. Voldemort disappeared following this event and is presumed dead, although opinions are divided on this subject.

During the book, Harry, enrolled at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, discovers that Voldemort has survived the destruction of his body and plots with one of his professors, Quirinus Quirrell, to try to regenerate himself by appropriating a Philosopher's Stone. Voldemort, embodied simply as a second face on the back of the professor's head, attacks Harry but finds that his touch is unbearable thanks to the sacrifice of Harry's mother who died to save him. Quirrell dies of shock and Voldemort disappears again.

(*) A figure Bobblehead , sometimes translated as "bobblehead figure", is a type of collectible toy, often with a head that is oversized relative to its body. Instead of a solid connection to the rest of the body, it is connected to it by a spring or hook so that the head bobs when touched, hence the name.
