Boo ( Majin B? ) is a fictional character created by Akira Toriyama in the 1984 manga Dragon Ball .
Millions of years before the story of Dragon Ball took place, when the Men of Earth were just beginning to walk, the sorcerer Bibidi created a monster called Boo in order to dominate the universe. This proved to be totally uncontrollable and attacked the Kaio Shin (the gods of the universe, obstacles to Bibidi): he killed those of the North and the West and absorbed that of the South (the strongest). It then took on an imposing form. He finally absorbed Dai Kaio Shin. The latter having a peaceful and good heart, Boo's character but also his physique changed completely: Boo became chubby with a childish character.
Boo was then locked in a cocoon by his creator, terrified of the creature. The only survivor of the massacre, the youngest Kaio Shin (the one from the East) found Bibidi and killed him in his sleep to leave Boo locked forever in his cocoon hidden on Earth.
